How to change your PC's Local IP Address

Windows 7

1)      Click the Windows Start Button

2)      Click on CONTROL PANEL

3)      Type “NETWORK” in the top right search box

4)      Click on MANAGE SAVED NETWORKS

5)      Click on CHANGE ADAPTER SETTINGS

6)      Right Click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION and click PROPERTIES

7)      Click on INTERNET PROTOCAL VERSION 4 and click PROPERTIES

8)      To use a Static IP click on the box for USE FOLLOWING IP and enter the information

9)      To use a Static DNS setting click on USE THE FOLLOWING DNS and enter the DNS information

10)   To use a Automatically assigned IP choose OBTAIN AUTOMATICALLY for both these options


Windows XP

1)      Click the Windows Start Button

2)      Click on CONTROL PANEL

3)      Double click the NETWORK icon

4)      Right Click on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION and click PROPERTIES

5)      Click on INTERNET PROTOCAL VERSION 4 and click PROPERTIES

6)      To use a Static IP click on the box for USE FOLLOWING IP and enter the information

7)      To use a Static DNS setting click on USE THE FOLLOWING DNS and enter the DNS information

8)      To use a Automatically assigned IP choose OBTAIN AUTOMATICALLY for both these options
